PERPOLI is situated at an altitude of 570 metres
and the local park offers a view over a large
part of the Garfagnana. Because of its dominant
position in past it became a fortified position.
Today the only remains of its castle are a
doorway and parts of the walls.
The parish church is dedicated to St Michele and
in 1949 it had to be almost tolally reconstructed
following damage sustained in WW II.
